LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team finished fourth at the Git-R-Done Husker Invitational on Saturday.
The Mavericks put up team scores of 296 and 302 for a total of 598 in the 36-hole event. Arkansas won the tournament with a score of 567. Host Nebraska was second at 586, and South Dakota State was third at 593.
Witchayapat Sinsrang led the team in scoring and finished in a tie for 6th in the field of 45 golfers with a total of 145 that included rounds of 69, two under par, and 76.
Nick Kagy shot back-to-back rounds of 75 for a total of 150 that put him second on the team and in a tie for 12th. He finished a stroke ahead of teammate
Sam Musch who carded rounds of 76 and 75 and finished in a tie for 16th.
Cole Christain was fourth on the team with rounds of 77 and 76 for a total of 153. He finished in a tie for 20th.
Thirawat Chantrakantanond rounded out the team scoring for UNO with cards of 76 and 79 for a total of 155, good for a tie for 28th.
Three Mavericks played as individuals.
Jonah Wright finished at 155 with rounds of 78 and 77, tying him for 28th.
Kellen Rossman was 38th overall with a total of 164. He shot matching scores of 82.
Austin Palubeskie, in his first tournament, shot 81 and 88 for a total of 169.
The Mavericks will now prepare for the Summit League Championship on Sunday-Tuesday, April 28-30 in Newton, Kan.
