JONESBORO, Ark. – The Omaha men's golf team sits in ninth place after the first day of play at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
The Mavericks shot team rounds of 308 and 297 to sit at 605 through the first 36 holes of the 54-hole event at the RidgePoint Country Club. Host Arkansas State leads the event with a score of 578. Louisiana Monroe is second at 585, and Eastern Kentucky is third, two strokes back.
Sam Musch, in his first tournament of the season, leads the team in scoring with rounds of 78 and an even-par 72 for a total of 150. He's tied for 28th in the field of 67 golfers from 11 teams.

Cole Christain who carded scores of 74 and 77 for a total of 151. He's tied for 31st.
Witchayapat Sinsrang is third on the team and tied for 42nd overall with a score of 153 that includes rounds of 80 and one-over 73.
Thirawat Chantrakantanond is tied for 51st after shooting rounds of 81 and 75 for a total of 156.
Nick Kagy is one stroke back at 157 after shooting scores of 76 and 81. He's tied for 54th.
Jonah Wright, playing as an individual, shot 80 and 78 for a total of 158.
The final round begins at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
