KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Omaha men's tennis team won its third-straight match, getting past UMKC 4-3.

The Mavericks improved to 5-8 overall on the season, while the Kangaroos moved to 3-5.

Doubles Play
UMKC struck first in doubles as Ben Stride and Diego Giraldo topped Omaha's top team of Nathan Reekie and Davis Lawley 6-2.  The Mavericks' tandem of Abdoul Ouattara and Matt Dunn pulled off a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.  UNO clinched the doubles point when Ethan Henry and Hugo Piles Ballester came back for a 7-5 victory at No. 3.

Singles Play
Omaha and UMKC each won three singles matches.  Piles Ballester put the Mavericks in front 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4.  Stride put the Kangaroos on the board with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 3.  Ouattara gave UNO some cushion with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win over Tom Kruse at No. 1.

The Roos put pressure on the Mavericks with a split set victory at No. 2.  Dunn clinched the Omaha victory with a 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3) decision over Hunter Clark at No. 5. In the final match of the day, Henry lost a 6-2, 7-6 (5) decision to Anil Patel at No. 6.

The Mavericks return to action this Sunday against Air Force.  The match is set for a 10 a.m. start at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
