Mavericks Open Play at Sacramento State

ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team got in nearly two rounds before play was suspended due to darkness at the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday.

The Mavericks shot 296 over the first round at the Valley-Hi Country Club and four of the five players finished 15 holes in the second round.  The fifth had played 16 holes.

Play will resume at 10:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.  Following the conclusion of the second round, the final round will begin immediately.

Thirawat Chantrakantanond and Witchayapat Sinsrang both shot rounds of 73 in the first round, one over par, to lead the team.

Nick Kagy was third on the team after the first round with a two-over round of 74.  He was two strokes ahead of Cole Christain who shot 76.

Jonah Wright concluded the scoring, posting a score of 81 in the first round.
