OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team lost a 6-1 non-conference decision to Marquette on Saturday at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center. The Mavericks are now 7-13 overall, while the Golden Eagles improved to 10-6.
Marquette won two doubles matches to clinch the point.
Abdoul Ouattara and
Matt Dunn fell 6-2 to Luis Heredia Gomez and Greg Anderson on court two.
Davis Lawley and
Nathan Reekie lost a 7-5 decision on court one.
The Golden Eagles won five of six singles matches to take the match. Reekie won a 7-5, 6-4 match on court two to give Omaha its lone point of the afternoon. Henry dropped a close match on court six 7-5, 6-2. Dunn lost 6-3, 6-3 to Fran San Andres on court five.
Omaha returns to action next weekend with a pair of Summit League matches at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center. The Mavericks host Illinois State on Saturday, April 6, at 4 p.m. UNO then plays North Dakota on Sunday, April 7, at 11 a.m.
