"What a thrilling win," said head coach
Adam Summitt. "We have had some close matches all year and felt like we have been there, but today was different. We played some great doubles across all three spots and that is good to see. I think the doubles point fueled us for singles and credit to ORU for really pushing us. After we were down 3-1, we just dug in and became tough in the last three singles matches. Huge props for Emily, because she played so well under pressure the entire match. She fought back from a match point down at 4-5 in the third set to win the next three games and clinch it for us. We look to keep this rolling tomorrow."
The Mavericks aim to continue their momentum with a Summit League matchup against Western Illinois tomorrow at noon. Competition is set to take place at Miracle Hills Tennis Center.
