INSIDE THE INNINGS
Omaha put itself on the board with a Lombardi sacrifice fly that scored Bondarchuk in the top of the first. Purdue Fort Wayne tied it in the next inning on a single-RBI.

Omaha tallied its next run in the bottom of the third on Ben Palensky's single through center that scored Bonar for an RBI. The Mavericks churned out three more runs in the top of the fifth. Thomas DeBonville casted a fly ball to right field and reached first on an error. He then rounded second and third, before he reached home on a Mastodon throwing error. That preceded Rogers' two-shot homer over the scoreboard in centerfield that made it 5-1 Omaha.

The Mastodons cut into Omaha's lead and made it 5-3 on a double to left center for a pair of RBI. Omaha, however, loaded the bases an inning later in the bottom of the seventh and scored its next run on a balk. Lombardi then singled and scored two more that made it 8-3 Mavericks. A Mastodon sacrifice fly gave them a run in the eighth, but Omaha was able to keep its foot on the pedal and plate three more RBI from Rogers and Bondarchuk to close out the game with a seven-run victory.
