SEATTLE, Wash. – The Omaha baseball team earned its second straight win over Seattle University Saturday afternoon, Feb. 23.

The Mavericks (3-3) totaled 19 team hits, with Jack Lombardi having a team best of four along with an RBI. Both Grant Suponchick and Braden Rogers had three hits and two RBI apiece, with Rogers tallying a home run. On the mound, Richie Holetz, Andrew Brighton and Tyler Daugherty each recorded 3.0 innings pitched. Brighton earned the win (1-0) while Daugherty notched his second save of the season.

INSIDE THE INNINGS
Omaha immediately jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top after loading the bases. Three of the runs were scored by a trio of single RBI from Bonar, Suponchick and Rogers, while Keil Krumwiede advanced from third to home on a balk.

The lead increased to 6-0 by the top of the third after Suponchick singled in the second, and Breyden Eckhout scored an unearned run from third off a Seattle error. The Redhawks cut Omaha's lead to just by the end of the fourth, but Omaha tacked on its seventh run in the fifth off a Thomas DeBonville triple.

The Redhawks cut Omaha's lead at 7-5 in the fifth, but the Mavericks went back up by three off a Max Gamm single RBI. A sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth gave Seattle its sixth run, and then cut it to one off a double down the right field line.

Cue Rogers, who rocketed a solo-shot home run to left center and put Omaha ahead 9-7. A Lombardi single made increased the lead back to 10-7 in the top of the eighth. Despite giving up a run in the bottom of the eighth on a fielder's choice, the Mavericks were able to hold on and secure the 10-8 win over Seattle.
