Omaha Seeks Season Sweep of North Dakota State

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha women's basketball team opens its final three-game road trip of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 23 at North Dakota State.  Tipoff at the Scheel's Center in Fargo, N.D. is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Follow the Mavericks

The Opening Tip
• Omaha is 8-18 overall and 2-11 in Summit League play, following a 70-61 win over Purdue Fort Wayne last Saturday.
• The Mavericks overcame a 28-27 halftime deficit to snap a nine-game Summit League losing streak.
• UNO honored seniors Ellie Brecht, Jay Bridgeman, Alicia Mountain, Kalen Phillips and Romekia Wallace prior to the game.
• Freshman Mariah Murdie set an Omaha Division I record with 18 rebounds and recorded her second straight double-double.
• Murdie finished with 11 points, 18 rebounds, three assists and five blocks. 
• Junior Rayanna Carter led the Mavericks with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting.
• Sophomore Claire Killian added 15 points, four boards, four assists and six steals.
• Cater paces the Mavericks with 10.1 points and 1.7 assists per game.
• Freshman Josie Filer averages a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game.

Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
North Dakota State is 6-19 (3-10 Summit League) on the season.  The Bison have lost seven straight games, including an 88-48 decision Saturday to South Dakota State.  Michelle Gaislerova scored a team-high 16 points.

NDSU, which finished 9-20 (2-12 Summit League) a year ago, was picked to finish seventh in the Summit League preseason poll.  The Bison are 6-8 at home this season.

Head coach Maren Walseth is in her fifth season at North Dakota State with a career mark of 39-103.

Series History
Omaha trails the all-time series against North Dakota State 44-19.  The Mavericks lead the series since the transition to Division I 10-3.  UNO defeated NDSU 78-61 on Jan. 6, 2019, at Baxter Arena.
