SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Omaha men's golf team is in 17th place after the first two rounds of The Invitational at Savannah Harbor hosted by William and Mary.
The Mavericks shot team rounds of 315 and 294 for a total of 609 in their first 36 holes of the spring season. Austin Peay leads the event with a total score of 578. Jacksonville State and North Dakota State are tied for second at 581.
Witchayapat Sinsrang led the Mavericks on the first day of play with rounds of 76 and 73 for a total of 149. That puts him in a tie for 40th place in the field of 95 golfers from 18 teams.
Nick Kagy is second on the team and tied for 65th overall with a score of 152. He shot rounds of 79 and 72. He's two strokes ahead of teammates
Cole Christain and
Thirawat Chantrakantanond who are tied for 78th with matching scores of 154. Christain carded rounds of 78 and 76 while Chantrakantanond had an 82 and a team-best round of 72.
Kellen Rossman, in his first collegiate tournament, was fifth on the team and tied for 92nd overall at 162. He shot 85 and 77 in the first two rounds.
The final round begins at 7 a.m. CT on Sunday from The Club at Savannah Harbor.
