LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha track and field program completed the regular season at the Nebraska Tune-Up Friday afternoon.
For the 3000-meter run,
Emily Johnson earned the top collegiate finish with her second-fastest time of 10:09.50, followed by
Heidi Hall (10:35.55/10th) and
Ivanna Uribe (16th/10:47.66), who both ran lifetime bests.
In the field events,
Anna Edet finished third in the weight throw at 58-01'.25" (17.71m) and
Stephanie Ahrens finished third in the high jump at 5-07'.25" (1.71m).
Both
Sophia Kirwan and
Scarlett Hill ran lifetime bests in the 200-meter dash with times of 26.00 and 26.30 for 11th and 13th, respectively.
In the mile,
Anita Jenkins ran a personal best 5:14.06 for ninth, while
Lauren Houston tallied a season-best time of 58.92 seconds for third in the 400.
"Today, we wanted to come in, feel good and get some good performances," said head coach
Chris Richardson. "With the number of personal bests we had, we accomplished our goal. Everyone has been working hard and with The Summit League Championships this coming week, we want to be ready to compete."
The Mavericks now look ahead to The Summit League Championships in Brookings, S.D., Feb. 22-23.
