OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's basketball program competes against future Summit League foe Kansas City this Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m.

OPENING TIP
• The Mavericks enter the matchup with a 3-5 overall record.
• Omaha went 1-1 in Hattiesburg, Miss., at the Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic where the team fell 74-66 against VCU and bounced back for a 78-70 win over Mississippi Valley State.

Claire Killian is the team's leading scorer at 10.5 points per contest. The junior from Watertown, Minn., is coming off a pair of double-digit scoring performances at the tournament with 17 against VCU and 15 against Mississippi Valley State.
• The home game against Kansas City marks the first of five games inside Baxter Arena during the month of December.
• The Mavericks own a 5-3 series record over the Roos with the last matchup in 2016.

GUESS WHO'S BACK, JOSIE'S BACK
After battling an injury, sophomore
Josie Filer returned to the Maverick lineup against Northern Kentucky. Last season as a freshman, Filer averaged a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game and started all 28 games last season at forward.
The Des Moines, Iowa native played nine minutes with three points, two rebounds and an assist against Northern Kentucky. Over the last two games, Filer has averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds. Against Mississippi Valley State, Filer helped lift the Mavericks to a 78-70 win after she hit a trio of three pointers in the final 5:25 of the game. Filer has also started the last two contests at the four spot for the Mavericks.
COLD-BLOODED KILLIAN
Junior
Claire Killian has emerged as the team's leading scorer as of late. The Watertown, Minn., native was the leading scorer in three of the last four games. Killian is also coming off back-to-back games of hitting four 3-pointers in a game. She is also 6-of-7 from the line in her last two games and is 12-of-15 in the last four.
This season, she has four double-digit scoring games, in which all four of those performances also marked her as the scoring leader. Killian aims for her third-straight double-digit scoring game and her fourth in the last five.
SCOUTING KANSAS CITY
The Roos sit at 4-4 overall and are 2-2 in their last four games. Kansas City currently plays in the WAC but will move to The Summit League next season. The team is led by Ericka Mattingly who averages a team-best 16.6 points, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Emily Ivory follows with 12.0 points per game. Head coach Jacie Hoyt is in her second season with the program and holds a 31-37 overall record.
Recently, Kansas City fell 83-58 on the road at Missouri State. The team has wins over Denver (83-79), Portland State (87-69), Rockhurst (78-60) and George Mason (64-58) with losses to Pacific (89-60), Davidson (74-64), Loyola Chicago (72-67) and Missouri State.
