Mavericks Toppled By K-State, 73-48

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Omaha women's basketball program fell 73-48 in its first road game of the non-league season Friday evening against the Kansas State Wildcats. 

LEADERS FOR OMAHA
The Mavericks (0-2) were led by Elena Pilakouta's team-high 11 points and Kia Wilson's 10 points and nine rebounds. Rayanna Carter followed with eight points while Ella Ogier notched five. Omaha shot 18-of-62 from the field (29%) and 3-of-13 from deep (23.1%). From the free throw line, Omaha was 9-for-20 (45%). 

LEADERS FOR K-STATE 
The Wildcats had five in double figures led by the 14 points and 19 rebounds from Peyton Williams. Christianna Carr had a game-high 15 points, followed by Rachel Ranke, Ayoka Lee and Jasauen Beard with 11 points apiece.
K-State shot 41% from the field on 27-of-66 shooting and 22.2% from beyond the arc (2-of-9). K-State was also 17-of-29 from the charity stripe (58.6%). 

INSIDE THE FIRST HALF 
Omaha and K-State had an even first quarter that saw the Wildcats get a late bucket for a 13-12 lead through the first 10 minutes. From there, K-State outscored the Mavericks 22-10 in the second quarter for a 35-22 halftime lead. 

INSIDE THE SECOND HALF
The Mavericks were limited to five third-quarter points compared to K-State's 19. At the 4:25 mark in the third, Omaha was forced to call a timeout as the Wildcats led by 20 (45-25). The lead built to 54-27 after three. Despite trailing, Omaha's bench outscored Kansas State in the final quarter, 21-19. 

LOOKING AHEAD
