Omaha Travels To Kansas State For Road Opener

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's basketball hits the road to Kansas State this Friday, Nov. 8, for a 6:30 p.m. tip on Big 12 NOW on ESPN+. 

OPENING TIP
• The Mavericks go to Manhattan, Kan., for the third-straight year in its non-conference slate and play the Wildcats for the fourth-straight year. 
• Omaha is coming off a 67-54 loss at home against Creighton in its season opener on Nov. 5. 
• Against the Bluejays, Ella Ogier recorded a game-high 12 points in her collegiate debut. 
• The Mavericks also saw Elena Pilakouta and Kia Wilson record 11 points apiece in the loss. 
• Friday's game against Kansas State marks the season opener for the Wildcats. 
• Omaha is 0-4 in its total meetings against Kansas State and 0-3 in its last three on the road. 
• The game marks the first of six non-conference away contests for the Mavericks this season. 

SCOUTING K-STATE
Kansas State preps for its season opener against Omaha this Friday at home. The Wildcats are 4-0 against Omaha and 3-0 at home. 

For the second-straight year, K-State opens the season at home against Omaha. K-State played two exhibition games with a 75-59 win over Washburn and a 78-60 victory over Fort Hays State. 

Redshirt freshman Ayoka Lee led the Wildcats with 21.0, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks over the two exhibitions. Head coach Jeff Mitte is in his sixth season at Kansas State with a 100-66 overall record. Last year, the Wildcats finished 21-12 overall and secured an at-large bit in the NCAA Tournament. In that game, K-State lost in the first round of the Louisville Region to Michigan, 84-54. 

CHEER FOR OGIER
Freshman Ella Ogier has made her presence known as a key contributor in the Maverick lineup this season. 

The Melbourne, Australia native led the team with 12 points, six rebounds and a pair of assists. She also scored in double-digits with 10 points in the Oct. 30 exhibition against Lakeland on 4-of-6 shooting with seven rebounds and four steals. The six-foot guard also recorded her first-career start in the season opener. Against Creighton, her six rebounds were the second-highest on the team behind teammate Claire Killian.
