DAYTON, Ohio -- The Omaha men's basketball team continued its three-game road swing at Dayton Tuesday night, falling 93-68 at UD Arena. The Mavericks are now 2-3 on the season, while the Flyers remain undefeated at 3-0.
Leaders for Omaha
JT Gibson posted a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting with three 3-pointers, adding four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
KJ Robinson scored in double figures for the first time this season with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
Matt Pile finished with eight points and collected a game-high eight rebounds.
Leaders for Dayton
Obi Toppin led an athletic Flyer squad with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting with six rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal. Ryan Mikesell (16), Rodney Chatman (13), Ibi Watson (11) and Trey Landers (11) also scored in double figures. Jalen Crutcher dished out a game-high seven assists alongside seven points.

Dayton shot 57.8% (37-of-64) from the floor, while Omaha finished at 45.8% (27-of-59). The Flyers had a 50-30 scoring advantage in the paint and had a 32-31 edge on the glass.
Inside the First Half
The Mavericks played it tight to start, as an
Ayo Akinwole jumper tied the game at 10-10 before the first media timeout. But UD went on a 21-2 run from there and capitalized on seven Maverick miscues to take a 31-12 lead with under five to the break. Their advantage stretched to 43-25 at the halfway point.
Inside the Second Half
A 6-0 Omaha run in the second half was capped by a Gibson three, which cut the margin to 60-42. The Mavericks managed to get within 15 on a Robinson trey that made it 67-52 with eight minutes left -- one of six threes canned in the second half. But they would get no closer as Dayton shot 60.6% (20-of-33) in the final 20 minutes.

JT Gibson moved up to fifth in school history for career 3-pointers (182), passing Seth Nelson (1999-2003).
