Omaha Welcomes Peru State For Monday Matchup

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's basketball program returns home for its third game of the season against Peru State Monday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m. inside Baxter Arena. 

QUICK HITS
• Omaha is coming off a 73-48 loss at Kansas State Friday evening. 
• The Mavericks take on Peru State at home for the third-consecutive year. The game will count as an exhibition for the Bobcats. 
• Freshman Kia Wilson is coming off a near-double-double performance of 10 points and nine rebounds at K-State last Friday. 
• Omaha aims for its first win of the regular season against Peru State. 
Elena Pilakouta leads the team with 11.0 points per game while Wilson follows with 10.5, respectively. 
• The Mavericks' game against the NAIA school marks the first of two non-Division I games this season for the team. 
• Omaha takes on Graceland (NAIA) later this season on Dec. 17 at home.

SCOUTING PERU STATE
Peru State enters the game with a 1-2 overall record. Recently, the Bobcats lost to Park University on the road, 69-58.  Guard Alyssa Marsh-Contreras leads the team with 17.7 points and pulls in 5.3 rebounds per contest. 

Giovanna Silva paces the team off the bench with a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game. Omaha leads the all-time series 10-0 over the Bobcats. 

WILSON'S IMPACT OFF THE BENCH
Freshman Kia Wilson has provided a spark for the team off the bench. She joins fellow teammate Pilakouta as the only Mavericks to have double-digit scoring efforts in her first two games of the season. 

Wilson's collegiate debut against Creighton included an 11-point, three-rebound, one-block performance in 20 minutes of play. She followed up with 10 points and nine rebounds at Kansas State on Nov. 8. Wilson also set a new season-high with 26 minutes in her second game.  

LOOKING AHEAD 
Omaha hits the road for a mid-week game at Kansas Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. The Mavericks and Jayhawks square off live on Big 12 NOW on ESPN+. Fans can listen to Jon Schriner on the call via 1290 KOIL.
