Summit League Releases Women's Basketball Preseason Poll

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League office announced its Preseason Women's Basketball Poll Monday morning, as the Mavericks were selected eighth. 

The votes were tallied by the league's head coaches, communications personnel and media members. 

South Dakota was picked as the preseason favorite with 20 first-place votes and 527 overall votes, followed by South Dakota State with 13 first-place votes and 496 total. Denver received one first-place vote and 394 votes, followed by Oral Roberts (370), Western Illinois (332), North Dakota (213), North Dakota State (181), Omaha (147) and Purdue Fort Wayne (85). 

The Mavericks return eight total letterwinners from the previous year and welcome seven newcomers. Head coach Brittany Lange is scheduled for Summit League media day press conference at Noon today, followed by an interview with MidCoSN at 12:15 p.m. To follow, visit the link HERE
