TULSA, Okla. – The Omaha men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches Sunday afternoon at the Gates Tennis Center.  No. 25 Tulsa swept the Mavericks 7-0 before Abilene Christian took a close 4-1 decision.

Tulsa 7, Omaha 0
Tulsa opened the morning by earning the doubles point.  Abdoul Ouattara and Nathan Reekie dropped a 6-2 decision to Kody Pearson and Daniel Siddall at No. 2.  The dup of Matt Dunn and Ethan Henry fell 6-3 to Boriss Kamdem and Tom Thelwall-Jones at No. 3.

The Golden Hurricane swept all six singles matches from the Mavericks.  Davis Lawley played a close match to Kamdem at No. 4 before falling 6-1, 6-4.  Razvan Grigorescu battled Jarod Hing at No. 2 but fell 6-1, 7-5.

Abilene Christian 4, Omaha 1
After a short break, the Mavericks took the court against Abilene Christian.  The Wildcats pounced early by winning the doubles point.  Ouattara and Reekie fell to Jonathan Sheehy and Jackson Fine at the No. 2 spot, 6-3.  Dunn and Henry fell to Josh Sheehy and Cole Lawson at No. 3, 6-4.

The Wildcats captured three singles matches to pick up the win.  Razvan Grigorescu lost a hotly contested match to Jonathan Sheehy at No. 2, 6-4, 6-4.  Dunn put the Mavericks on the board with a 7-6 (3), 7-5 win over Joaquin Delgado at No. 6.  At the top spot, Ouattara lost a split set decision to Josh Sheehy 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.  Dimitris Azoides clinched the match for ACU with a split set win over Lawley at No. 4, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.  The remaining two matches that were in the third set were left unfinished.

Up Next
The Mavericks return to the courts next weekend with a visit to Arkansas.  Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Fayetteville, Ark.
