FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Omaha men's tennis team fell 7-0 to Arkansas at the Billingsley Tennis Center on Sunday.
With the loss, the Mavericks move to 2-5 on the season, while the Razorbacks improved to 7-2.
Omaha dropped the doubles point to start the match.
Nathan Reekie and
Hugo Piles Ballester fell 6-0 at No. 3 to Josh Howard-Tripp and Jose Alonso. The Mavericks tied things at 1-1 as
Davis Lawley and
Abdoul Ouattara stopped Oscar Mesquida and Adam Sanjuro at No. 1, 6-4. The Razorbacks clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2.
Arkansas then swept all six singles to complete the victory. The Mavericks dropped straight-set matches at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to take a 5-0 lead. Junior
Razvan Grigorescu dropped a 6-1,0-6, 6-4 decision to Alex Reco at No. 2. Junior
Nathan Reekie fell in a tight match at No. 3 to Pedro Alonso 6-2, 2-6, 7-5.
