Omaha, Southern Utah Set For Saturday Showdown

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team welcomes Southern Utah to Caniglia Field this Saturday, Sept. 8, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.  Links to live stats, audio and video are available on OMavs.com.

From the Goal Line
• Omaha picked up its first win of the season last Sunday, topping Green Bay 1-0.
Andrea Daves scored the game-winner in the 76th minute.  The goal was Daves' first-career goal.
Kaitlyn Guhl and Kiana Dualan earned their first career start last Sunday against Green Bay.  Cydney Skinner also made her first start of the season against the Phoenix.
• Daves and Brylie Meyer lead the team with one goal, while Emily Romero and Sophia Roux each have one assist.
Erin Bunker picked up the shutout victory by making two saves.
• The Mavericks return 14 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that finished 6-10-1.  Omaha notched a fifth-place finish in the Summit League with a 3-4 record.
• Head coach Tim Walters is entering his second season at the helm of the Maverick women's soccer program.
• Summit League head coaches voted the Mavericks to finish seventh in the preseason coaches poll.

Scouting Omaha
The Mavericks are 1-4-1 (0-0 Summit League) after defeating Green Bay on Sunday afternoon, 1-0.
Andrea Daves and Brylie Meyer share the team lead with one goal.  Emily Romero and Sophia Roux have one assist apiece.  Bailey Cascio leads the team with nine shots, while Romero leads with five shots on goal.

Ina Gudjonsdottir has appeared in five games this season with four starts.  Gudjonsdottir has a 0-3-1 record with a 1.48 goals-against average and a .741 save percentage.  The Iceland native has faced 75 shots this season and made 20 saves.  Erin Bunker is 1-1 with a 1.33 goals-against average, .750 save percentage and a shutout.

Scouting the Southern Utah Thunderbirds
Southern Utah is coming off a 3-0 loss at Boise State on Sunday, putting it at 1-5 for the year.  Devri Hartle leads all players with five points on two goals and an assist.  MaKenzie Lawrence and Taylor Harris have one goal each.  Brianna Aldridge has played every minute in goal for the Thunderbirds with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .755 save percentage.

Series History with Southern Utah
Saturday's game marks the first meeting all-time between Omaha and Southern Utah.
