Omaha Opens Summit League Play on the Road

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team is set to begin Summit League play this week to close our a three-match road trip.  The Mavericks visit Oral Roberts on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. before heading to Denver on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. (CT).

From the Goal Line
•    This weekend is the second-straight season Omaha opens its Summit League schedule on the road.  Last season, the Mavericks went 1-1 to start the league campaign.
•    On Sunday, UNO dropped a 1-0 decision in double overtime at UTRGV.
•    Sophomore Andrea Daves leads the Mavericks in points (5) and assists (3).  She shares the team-high in goals (1).
•    Sophomore Bailey Cascio is second on the team in points (4) and assists (2).  She shares the team-high in goals (1).
•    Junior goalkeeper Erin Bunker has started five matches this season and is 3-2 with two shutouts.  Bunker has a 1.33 goals-against average and a .684 save percentage.
•    Freshman keeper Ina Gudjonsdottir has appeared in seven matches with six starts.  Gudjonsdottir is 0-5-1 with a 1.46 goals-against average and a .756 save percentage.
•    Six different Mavericks have scored a goal this season.
•    The Mavericks return 14 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that finished 6-10-1.  Omaha notched a fifth-place finish in the Summit League with a 3-4 record.
•    Head coach Tim Walters is in his second season at the helm of the Maverick women's soccer program.
•    Summit League head coaches voted the Mavericks to finish seventh in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Scouting Omaha
Omaha is 3-7-1 this season following a 1-0 double-overtime loss at UTRGV on Sunday.  UNO is 0-6-1 on the road this season and 3-1 at Caniglia Field.
Andrea Daves leads the team lead in points (5) and assists (3).  Bailey Cascio has four points on a goal and two assists while Emily Romero has three points on a goal and an assist.  Tabitha Allberg, Hannah Heinemann and Brylie Meyer each have one goal.

Scouting the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles
•    Oral Roberts is 5-7-0 this season, being outscored by its opponents by a 23-12 margin overall.  Last week, the Golden Eagles lost 3-0 at Florida Atlantic.
•    ORU leads the all-time series with Omaha, 4-1, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 2012.
•    Head coach Roger Bush is in his fifth season at Oral Roberts with a 53-48-9 record.  He is assisted by Wes Branstetter and Preston Wiruth.
•    Players to watch:
  • No. 12 Jordan Langebartels (F, Jr.): Team-high 13 points on five goals and three assists.
  • No. 32 Sierra Beall (F, Sr.): three goals and six points on 16 shots.
  • No. 01 Ryliegh Bohnenstiehl (GK, Sr.): has a 1.40 goals-against average with a .806 save percentage.  Bohnenstiehl is 3-3 this season in nine appearances and eight starts.  She has been named Summit League Defensive Player of the Weeks once this season.
  • No. 00 Reagan Richins (GK, Jr.): has a 2.25 goals-against average with a .709 save percentage.  She is 2-4 in 11 appearances and four starts.
Scouting the Denver Pioneers
•    Denver is 4-4-2 this season, outscoring its opponents by a 13-9 margin overall.  Last weekend, the Pioneers lost to UC Riverside before they knocked off Cal State Fullerton.
•    DU leads the all-time series, 4-1, dating back to the first meeting in 2013.
•    Head coach Jeff Hooker is 342-148-46 in his 27th season as the head women's coach at Denver.  He is assisted by Kris Peat and Levi Rossi.
•    Players to watch:
  • No. 9 Camryn MacMillan (F, Fr.) and No. 19 Hannah Adler (MF, Jr.): Shares team-lead in points (8), goals (3) and assists(2).
  • No. 21 Meg Halvorson (MF, So.): two goals and two assists for six points.
  • No. 1 Brittany Wilson (GK, Jr.): has four shutouts and 45 saves as the starter for all 10 matches.  Wilson has a 0.85 goals-against average and a .833 save percentage.

The Mavericks return home to host Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, Oct. 5.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Caniglia Field.
