ANKENY, Iowa – The Omaha women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 exhibition match to Northern Iowa in a neutral site matchup Monday evening.
Northern Iowa netted the game's lone goal early in the second 30-minute period.
"It was good to get a competitive game in and a chance to evaluate all the new players," head coach Tim Walters said. "We saw a lot of things we need to get better at as a team and I'm looking forward to the next two weeks of training."
Omaha concludes exhibition play this Saturday, Aug. 11, with its Black-White scrimmage at 5 p.m. The Mavericks open the regular season on the road against Memphis on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m.
