OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Missouri State on Friday at Caniglia Field.
The Mavericks fell to 0-3, while the Bears moved to 2-0-1.
Missouri State took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when Josh Dolling scored his second goal of the season.  Dylan De Jong served a cross into the box that found Dolling for a header into the lower-right side of the goal.
The Bears added to their lead in the 39th minute as they capitalized on another cross.  Conor Ingram scored his first goal of the season off a cross from Greg Stratton to give Missouri State a 2-0 advantage. 
Omaha had several chances to grab the early lead but was unable to find the back of the net.  
Diego Gutierrez found space in the box for a shot, but the shot was blocked.  The ensuing corner kick saw 
Seth Rinderknecht's header glance off the crossbar.
The Mavericks picked up the offensive momentum in the second half and had several chances to cut the deficit, but every opportunity was denied.  MSU's Michael Creek made back-to-back saves on shots from 
Mitch Hammer and 
Marcos Bautista in the 47th minute.  Creek preserved the shutout in the 81st minute with a diving save on Nil Ayat's free kick.

•    Omaha outshot Missouri State 16-10 and held a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.  The Mavericks also held a 7-2 lead in corner kicks.

Matt Smith started and played 45 minutes for UNO.  Smith recorded one save and allowed two goals.  
Ugo Tritz played the other 45 minutes and made two saves.

Mitch Hammer and 
Seth Rinderknecht took three shots apiece.  Hammer tallied a team-leading two shots on goal.
•    MSU's Michael Creek played the entire 90 minutes and made eight saves.
