CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Omaha softball split two games on the second day of the Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Invitational on Saturday.
With the split, the Mavericks are now 7-7 on the season.
In the opener,
Faith Romero hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 6-6. Texas Southern put two runs up in the top of the eighth inning. After tying the game at 8-8 in the bottom half of the inning,
Emily Klosterman hit a run scoring double to drive home the game winner.
In the nightcap, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi took a 6-0 lead through the first six innings over Omaha.
Kelly Pattison blasted a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to get the Mavericks on the board.
Omaha will conclude tournament play on Sunday, Feb. 25, against Texas Southern at 9 a.m.
