Mavericks Fall to Denver in Summit League Finals

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Omaha women's soccer team fell to Denver 4-0 in the Summit League Championship Final at Fishback Soccer Complex.

The Mavericks finished an incredible run in their first Division I postseason appearance with an overall record of 8-11-2, while the Pioneers advance to the NCAA Tournament with the conference's automatic bid with a record of 13-5-2.

Omaha kept Denver off the scoreboard until the 41st minute as Hannah Adler scored her seventh goal of the season.  Samantha Feller took a shot from the left side that goalkeeper Erin Bunker deflected away from goal.  Adler trapped the rebound and fired a one-timer into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead at halftime.

After the break, the Pioneers added to their lead in the 52nd minute.  Camryn MacMillan fired a shot from the top of the 18-yard box that ricocheted off the crossbar and across the goal line to make it a 2-0 advantage.  Feller earned her second assist of the game.

MacMillan added her second goal in the half seven minutes later when she one-touched a Leah Swander cross into the open goal for a 3-0 lead.

The game's final goal came in the 75th minute as a UNO defender deflected a DU corner kick into their own goal to make the final score 4-0.

•    Denver outshot Omaha 25-4 and held a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal.
•    The Pioneers also held a 10-2 lead in corner kicks.
•    Taylor Gelling and Cydney Skinner led the Mavericks with one shot on goal.
