Mavericks Host Purdue Fort Wayne in Summit Home Opener

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team opens the home portion of its Summit League slate, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

From the Goal Line
•    Omaha looks to snap a three-match losing streak on Friday night.  The Mavericks dropped a 2-0 decision against Oral Roberts last Friday before falling 3-1 to Denver.
•    Sophomore Bailey Cascio leads Omaha in points (6) and goals (two), while sophomore Andrea Daves leads the team with three assists.
•    Daves, senior Emily Romero and freshmen Tabitha Allberg, Hannah Heinemann and Brylie Meyer each have one goal.
•    Junior goalkeeper Erin Bunker has started seven matches this season and is 3-4 with two shutouts.  Bunker has a 1.69 goals-against average and a .676 save percentage.
•    Freshman keeper Ina Gudjonsdottir has appeared in seven matches with six starts.  Gudjonsdottir is 0-5-1 with a 1.46 goals-against average and a .756 save percentage.
•    Six different Mavericks have scored a goal this season.
•    The Mavericks return 14 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that finished 6-10-1.  Omaha notched a fifth-place finish in the Summit League with a 3-4 record.
•    Head coach Tim Walters is in his second season at the helm of the Maverick women's soccer program.
•    Summit League head coaches voted the Mavericks to finish seventh in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Scouting Omaha
Omaha is 3-9-1 this season and 0-2-0 in The Summit League following dropping a pair of conference road games last week.  The Mavericks are 3-1 at home and 0-8-1 on the road.
Bailey Cascio leads the team with six points and two goals.  Andrea Daves has a team-high three assists to go with a goal for a total of five points.  Emily Romero sits at three points on a goal and an assist.  Tabitha Allberg, Hannah Heinemann and Brylie Meyer each have one goal.  Senior Cydney Skinner and junior Sophia Roux each have an assist.
Erin Bunker and Ina Gudjonsdottir have split time in goal this season for Omaha.  Bunker has seven starts and has a 3-4 record with two shutouts and a .676 save percentage.   Gudjonsdottir has seven appearance and six starts with a 1.46 goals-against average and a .759 save percentage.
Tim Walters is in his second season as head coach of the Mavericks, posting a 9-19-2 mark.  He is assisted by Kelly Farrell, Nick Miller and Ava Doetsch.

Scouting the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons
•    Purdue Fort Wayne is 3-6-3 overall and 0-2-0 in Summit League play.  The Mastodons have lost two straight league matches, falling 2-1 to South Dakota State and 5-1 against North Dakota State.
•    Omaha leads the all-time series with Purdue Fort Wayne, 4-2, dating back to the first meeting between the two schools in 2012.
•    The Mastodons have been outscored by a 23-15 margin, and outshot 188-117.
•    Head coach Jason Burr is in his fifth season at Purdue Fort Wayne with a 12-47-9 record and holds a career mark of 69-78-19 through nine seasons.
•    Burr is assisted by Alyssa Krause and Jeff Richey.

Tracking the Mastodons
•    No. 10 Kayla Wisniewski (F, Fr.): Team-high 13 points on six goals and an assist.
•    No. 27 Deanna Hecht (F, Sr.): Eight points on three goals and two assists.
•    No. 3 Kendall Quinn (MF, Jr.): Six goals on two goals and two assists.
•    No. 6 Hannah Kroger (MF/F, Jr.): Team-high five assists.
•    No. 0 Haley Lydon (GK, Sr.): has a 1.37 goals against average with one shutout and  .783 save percentage.  Lydon leads the team with 655:43 minutes in the net and has a 1-3-2 record.
•    No. 00 Lorah Pund (GK, So.): has a 2.45 goals-against average with one shutout and .717 save percentage.  Pund has appeared in 476:55 minutes with a 2-2-1 record.

Omaha continues its three-match homestand on Thursday, Oct. 11, against North Dakota at 7 p.m.  The Mavericks then play South Dakota on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m.
