OMAHA, Neb. – Kiana Dualan captured her first Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday.
Dualan scored her first two career goals in a 2-1 victory over Western Illinois on Sunday that punched Omaha's first ticket to the Summit League Championship.
Dualan put the Mavericks on the board first with a goal in the closing seconds of the first half, then broke a 1-1 tie in the 61st minute with a goal that eventually cemented Omaha's postseason first postseason berth since joining the league in 2012. With the win, UNO finished fourth in the league standings, one point ahead of South Dakota.
South Dakota goalkeeper Parker Rytz garnered Summit League Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Omaha opens Summit League tournament play on Thursday, Nov. 1, against South Dakota State. Kickoff in Brookings, S.D. is scheduled for 3 p.m.
