BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Omaha women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to South Dakota State on Friday at the Fishback Soccer Complex.
With the loss, the Mavericks are now 5-10-1 overall and 2-3-1 in The Summit League, while the Jackrabbits improved to 10-5-1 (5-1).
Omaha and South Dakota State battled to a scoreless tie until Leah Manuleleua scored in the 90th minute, giving the Jackrabbits a 1-0 lead. Carina McLennan ran onto a long ball down the left side and cut back to the top of the penalty area. McLennan served a cross towards the near post where Manuleleua cut behind a defender and poked home the right-footed shot.
