Men's Soccer Falls to Bradley, 3-1

PEORIA, Ill. – The Omaha men's soccer team lost a 3-1 non-conference match to Bradley at Shea Stadium.

With the loss, the Mavericks are now 3-6-1 on the season, while the Braves improved to 6-4-3.

Bradley took the lead late in the first half on an own goal.  The Braves' Jacob McKee headed a cross that was redirected by Maverick defender Billy Hoffmann into the near right side to give Bradley a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Bradley doubled its lead 36 seconds into the second half.  Gerit Wintermeyer threaded a pass to the feet of Younes Dayekh who took on a pair of Omaha defenders before unleashing a shot into the upper left corner.

The Mavericks cut the lead in half less than five minutes later.  Mitch Hammer eluded a sliding Bradley defender and placed a shot into the lower right corner to make it a 2-1 game.  Martin Veys picked up the assist.

The Braves added an insurance goal in the 76th minute.  Following a missed penalty kick by Omaha, Wintermeyer found Dayekh who then scored his second goal of the match and made the final 3-1.
