OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha men's basketball team dropped a Summit League matchup to South Dakota Saturday night, falling 85-71 at Baxter Arena.

Junior
Zach Jackson led the Mavericks with 18 points, six rebounds, a career-high-tying four assists and two steals, marking his 16th straight double-figure scoring performance. The Wichita, Kan., native shot 7-of-13 from the field.
Senior
Lamar Wofford-Humphrey (15), sophomore
JT Gibson (12) and senior
Daniel Norl (10) joined Jackson in double figures. Gibson chipped in four boards and two assists for the night.
Leaders for South Dakota
Tyler Hagedorn led all scorers with 25 points alongside seven rebounds and two assists. Matt Mooney added 17 points, five caroms, four assists and four steals, and Nick Fuller pitched in 16 points and a game-best eight boards.
Team Stats
Omaha shot .500 (29-of-58) from the field, while South Dakota finished at .492 (29-of-59). The Coyotes had a 36-25 rebounding advantage, including 11-6 on the offensive end with an 18-6 second-chance scoring edge.
Inside the First Half
South Dakota took an early lead on a 14-4 start by the first media timeout. The Mavericks managed to pull within four on a Gibson triple that made it 22-18 with just over 10 minutes to go, but USD went on a 19-6 run from there. The Coyotes, powered by 18 first-half points from Hagedorn, carried a 50-32 advantage into the break.
Inside the Second Half
Omaha shot .516 (16-of-31) in the second stanza and trimmed the deficit to single digits with another Gibson three at 57-48. USD, which had no field goals over the final 8:15, led by double digits the rest of the way to record its third straight win.
The Mavericks are now 7-15 (2-4 Summit League) on the season, while the Coyotes improve to 17-5 (5-1).

-Omaha has shot .500 or better in 10 games this season.
