Omaha to Kick Off Summit League Play at Fort Wayne Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team will look to start Summit League play on a high note when they hit the pitch against Fort Wayne on Thursday, Sept. 28.  The Mavericks will kick off against the Mastodons at the Hefner Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. (CT).

Scouting Report: Omaha
The Mavericks are 3-2-1 in September and 3-6-1 on the season.  Omaha is starting a three-match stretch away from Caniglia Field.

Abby Meader leads the team with seven points from three goals and an assist, while Natalie Johnson has six points from three goals.  Emily Romero and Carlie Cook lead the team with two assists each.

Goalkeeper Haley Johnson (1-2-0) has a league-low 1.17 goals-against average and a .815 save percentage.  Fellow keeper Erin Bunker (2-4-1) owns a 2.03 goals-against average with a .700 save percentage.

Scouting Report: Fort Wayne
The Mastodons enter league play with a 1-9-0 overall record.  Last time out, Fort Wayne lost to Loyola Chicago, 6-1.  Kendall Quinn leads the team with three goals, while Kallianne Mogler leads the Mastodons with five assists.

History vs. Fort Wayne
Thursday marks the sixth all-time meeting between Omaha and Fort Wayne.  The Mavericks own a 3-2 series lead over the Mastodons with each team undefeated on their home pitch.  Last season, Omaha topped Fort Wayne 3-1 at Caniglia Field.

Looking Forward
The Mavericks continue their three-game road trip as they visit South Dakota State on Friday, Oct. 6.  Kickoff from Brookings, S.D., is set for 6 p.m.
