CHARLESTON, Ill. – Joseph Ghitis recorded three saves as the No. 23 Omaha men's soccer team played Eastern Illinois to a 0-0 draw on Saturday morning at Lakeside Field.

Omaha controlled a majority of the possession in the first half, holding Eastern Illinois without a shot.

Both teams came out of the half more aggressive with each squad putting three shots on goal, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

Inside the Box Score
•    Omaha held a 7-5 shot advantage and a 5-3 lead in shots on goal.
•    Xavier Gomez and Emmanuel Hamzat each had two shots on goal to lead the Mavericks.
•    Joseph Ghitis made three saves to earn his third shutout of the season and 14th of his career.
•    The two teams combined for 29 fouls and 10 yellow cards in the match.

•    Omaha is 3-0-3 in its six Summit League openers.
•    Ghitis lowered his career goals-against average to 0.95, and needs six saves to break the program's career saves mark.
•    The Mavericks were held without a goal for the first time since Oct. 29, 2016, against No. 3/4 Denver.
