OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Creighton on Saturday evening at Morrison Stadium.
With the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 2-5-1 on the season, while the Bluejays improved to 2-6-1.
Creighton scored quickly as Ashleigh Cearlock headed home a cross from Haylee Blach, making it 1-0 in favor of the Bluejays in the sixth minute.
In the 14th minute, CU's Taryn Jakubowski converted a penalty kick for a 2-0 Creighton lead.
The Bluejays made it a 3-0 game when Kaira Houser scored her second goal of the season in the 42nd minute. Houser beat three Maverick defenders and finished to the left of the goal. Her goal was unassisted.
In the second half,
Abby Meader scored her third goal of the season when she received a cross from Carly Cook in the 66th minute and scored from eight yards out. Cook picked up her first assist of the season.
