Scouting Report: Omaha
Last week, the Mavericks defeated Missouri State 2-1 in overtime at home and then blanked UMKC 1-0 on the road.
Abby Meader headed home an
Emily Romero free kick face the game winner vs. the Bears, and then converted a penalty kick for the winner against the Kangaroos.
Maverick Bites
- Omaha is 2-0-1 in its last three games and has allowed only one goal in nearly 300 minutes of action.
- Senior Natalie Johnson and junior Abby Meader each have two goals this season to lead the Mavericks.
- Meader and juniors Emily Romero and Cydney Skinner each have one assist.
Scouting Report: Creighton
The Bluejays are off to a 1-6-1 (0-0-0 Big East) start this season. Creighton is coming off a 1-0 loss to Drake Wednesday evening.
Taryn Jakubowski and Kylin Grubb each have two goals to lead the Jays. Jaylin Bosak, Kaira Houser and Hannah Miller each have a goal. Miller and four other players each have one assist.
Defensively, McKenzie Meola has played every minute this season allowing 18 goals with a 2.18 goals-against average. Meola has 48 saves and a .727 save percentage.
History vs. Creighton
Saturday is the ninth all-time meeting between Omaha and Creighton. CU holds an 8-1 series lead over UNO. The Bluejays topped the Mavericks 3-1 last season at Caniglia Field.
Last Time Out
Abby Meader converted a second-half penalty kick for the only score of the game as Omaha went on the road and defeated UMKC 1-0 last Sunday.
The two squad's limited chances in the first half as the defense answered each challenge put forth by the opposing offense. Omaha goalkeeper
Erin Bunker collected three saves in the first half to keep the Kangaroos off the board, while the Mavericks put one shot on frame.
The Kangaroos got a great chance in the 69th minute as Lilly Cobb got a shot on goal, but Bunker made the save.
Omaha broke through in the 83rd minute as Meader was taken down in the box setting up a penalty kick for the Mavericks. She converted the kick to give Omaha the one-goal lead.
The Maverick defense held the Kangaroos without a shot for the final seven minutes to preserve the win.
UMKC outshot Omaha 15-9 but held only a 4-3 margin in shots on goal.

This and That
- Saturday's game is the sixth road contest of the season for the Mavericks. Omaha has only played two matches at home thus far.
- In the first seven games of the season, UNO has started 17 different players. Susie Dineen and Jessica Bollinger are the only players to start all seven games. Bollinger has logged a team-best 648 minutes, while Dineen has played in 386 minutes.
- Four players have appeared in over 550 minutes this season. Bollinger leads the way followed by Romero (604), Dimon (590) and Meader (556).
- Overall 22 of the 24 players on the roster have seen action this season.
- Eight players have made their Omaha debuts this year. Dineen has started all seven games, while freshmen Bailey Cascio and Andrea Daves each have two starts.
- The Mavericks have used two goalkeepers this year, senior Haley Johnson (0-2) and sophomore Erin Bunker (2-2-1).
