GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Omaha women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against North Dakota Friday afternoon at Bronson Field. The Mavericks move to 0-4-1 (0-0 Summit League) overall while the Fighting Hawks are now 2-2-1 (0-0 Big Sky) on the season.
In a match that featured a combined 30 shot attempts, neither team's offense was able to find the back of the net after 110 minutes of action.
The Mavericks managed five shots in the final five minutes of the match, but were unable to score the game-winner.
Turning Point
North Dakota's Karleen Yapello broke through the Omaha defense in the 69th minute to score what looked to be the first goal of the game, but her attempt was waved off, as Yapello was offsides.
Inside the Box Score
- North Dakota outshot Omaha 16-14, but the Mavericks held a 6-2 lead in shots on goal.
- Emily Romero led Omaha with five shots. Cydney Skinner had three shots with two on goal.
- Haley Johnson made her second consecutive start in goal for Omaha and played 79 minutes.
- Erin Bunker played the final 32 minutes in net for the Mavericks and made two saves.
