NDSU Scores Late to Top Omaha 3-2

FARGO, N.D. – The Omaha women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to North Dakota State on Sunday afternoon at Dacotah Field.

With the loss, the Mavericks are now 4-8-1 on the season and 1-2 in Summit League action, while the Bison improved to 5-9 overall and 3-1 in league play.

Omaha scored the first goal of the game in the 36th minute.  Cydney Skinner received a pass from Sophia Roux and lofted a shot from the left side of the box that went over the keepers head for a 1-0 Maverick lead.

Mariah Haberle tied the game 1-1 for the Bison in the 62nd minute.  Haberle received a corner kick from Britney Monteon on the left side of the penalty area where she connected with the back of the net for her first goal of the season.

NDSU took a 2-1 lead less than 10 minutes later.  Haberle received a pass from Malley O'Brien that went between a pair of defenders outside of the penalty area and scored on a one-on-one matchup with the UNO goalkeeper.

The Mavericks scored the equalizer in the 76th minute.  Following a Bison foul just outside of the penalty area, Emily Romero blasted a free kick that beat the NDSU keeper for her first goal of the season.

North Dakota State scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute.  Roxy Roemer played a corner kick into the box that deflected off Hanna Norman and into the goal for a 3-2 NDSU lead.
