OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team created eight second half chances, but couldn't find the equalizer as the Mavericks fell to Kansas State 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Caniglia Field.
The Wildcats scored what proved to be the game-winning goal from a shot by Dora Gallo in the 68th minute. Freshman goalkeeper Erin Bunker allowed one goal and made four saves in her first collegiate start. Kansas State keeper Miranda Larkin collected five saves and recorded the shutout win.
The Mavericks travel to Springfield, Mo. next Friday to play Missouri State. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
