Omaha Tops Graceland in Exhibition Play

OMAHA, Neb. – Five Mavericks scored in double-figures as Omaha women's basketball never trailed in a 109-59 exhibition win over Graceland on Sunday evening at Baxter Arena.

Senior transfer Michaela Dapprich had a game-high 27 points to lead the Mavericks.  Sophomore transfer Courtney Vaccher added 15 points and six rebounds.  Sophomore Amber Vidal pitched in 15 points, five assists and four steals, while junior Remy Davenport scored 11 points, highlighted by three 3-point field goals.  Sophomore Ellie Brecht chipped in 10 points.

Tristen McFeders led Graceland with 14 points, while Sydney Vaughn added 11.

The Mavericks held the Yellowjackets scoreless for nearly three minutes while building a 10-0 lead to open the game.  Dapprich capped the run with a 3-pointer.  Omaha led 32-16 at the end of the first quarter.

Omaha took a 47-25 lead midway through the second quarter after a pair of free throws by Vidal.  The Mavericks then pushed the lead to 29 points, 56-27, when Vidal scored inside the lane with 1:50 left in the first half, and took a 58-29 advantage into the break.

UNO reached the century mark with 4:03 left in regulation on a jumper by Alexa Fisher, 101-51.  Moriah Dapprich's bucket with 1:53 gave Omaha its largest lead of the game at 54 points, 108-54.

As a team, Omaha hit 43-of-75 shots from the floor, including 12-of-31 three-pointers.  The Mavericks also hit 11-of-16 free throws in the game.  Graceland connected on 22-of-65 shots from the floor including 8-of-21 three-pointers but went 7-of-12 at the line.  UNO held a 47-33 rebounding advantage.

The Mavericks open regular-season play Friday, Nov. 11 in the first round of the Preseason WNIT against Colorado State.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo.
