#euromavs Italy Blog: Post #3
by Jake White
Italy was a trip designed to have us experience a culture other than our own and to build team chemistry. It has only been three days and I've already seen the team grow and bond as a unit.
Today we had an opportunity to revisit downtown Milan. There were locals dancing and doing balancing tricks, which drew in crowds. Everyone seemed very interested.
While walking around I noticed all the looks the locals were giving the team. They looked shocked at how tall most of us were. I even caught someone taking a "selfie" by us while his friend was standing by him laughing.
Italian gelato may be the best thing I've ever tasted. It is vastly different than ice cream in America, and it tastes more natural. Every day that I have been in Italy I have eaten gelato at least twice.
One aspect of Italy that has surprised me during this trip is how American culture is integrated. I walked into a Foot Locker and a song by Beyoncé was playing in the background. At another store I found apparel with "Cali" or "New York" written all over it.
I feel blessed to have this opportunity to experience the Italian culture. It has been extremely enjoyable, and I look forward to the remaining days we have here.
