Sophie Peters shot a round of 74 to lead the Omaha women's golf team on the second day of play at the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational on Monday.
As a team, the Mavericks shot a score of 316 on day two and sit in 15th place with a 36-hole score of 633. Daytona State College moved into first place with a score of 596, one stroke ahead of Elon and South Dakota State which are tied for second.
Peters' score tied for fifth-best round on the team this season and helped put her in a tie for 25th with a two-day total of 151. That has her two strokes ahead of teammate
Megan Vetrovsky who shot 75 in round two. Her total score of 153 has her in a tie for 36th place in the field of 101 golfers.
Katie Kesti shot a second-round score of 82 for a two-day total of 158 that puts her third for the Mavericks and in a tie for 63rd overall.
Makenna Kroeker sits at 171, a score that includes a round of 85 on Monday. She's tied for 94th.
Alexa Ruwe concluded the scoring for the Mavericks with a second-round score of 96 that puts her at 186.
The final round begins on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. CT at the Juliette Falls Golf Resort.
