Colorado led early in the first half, but Omaha tied it at 17-17 on a layup by sophomore forward
Daniel Meyer and went ahead by two when Hollins swiped the ball from CU and tossed in a layup. Though the Buffs again stalled the game at 19-all with free throws from Xavier Talton, a Patterson jumper put UNO ahead again, and the Mavericks held on to the lead for the remainder of the half. Omaha surged ahead by as much as eight in the first 20 minutes, with layups from Hollins and freshman guard
JT Gibson, making it 33-25 with 2:41 to go. The Mavs again took an eight-point advantage on back-to-back baskets from White at 37-29. After a Talton three for CU, Patterson hit one more free throw before the break, and Omaha led 38-32 at the half.
