OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team returns home after a 0-2 weekend on the road to open Summit League play. The Mavericks dropped a pair of 1-0 decisions at North Dakota State and South Dakota State. UNO is back in action this weekend hosting IUPUI at 7 p.m. on Friday and traveling to Fort Wayne on Sunday for a 10:30 a.m. (CT) start.

Omaha looks to rebound from a 0-2 start to Summit League play, which saw the Mavericks concede only two goals. Unfortunately for Coach
Don Klosterman's squad, they did not tally a goal.
Chelsi Rohloff leads the team with eight points off four goals this season.

Marin Dregelid each have three points on a goal and an assist.
Courtney Neville leads the team with two assists.
Goalkeepers
Haley Shelton and
Katlyn Schochenmaier have split time in goal this season for the Mavericks. Schochenmaier has taken over the starting job this season and has appeared in ten games with seven starts. She is 3-5-1 on the season with a 1.55 goals-against average and a.797 save percentage. Schochenmaier has earned two Summit League Defensive Players of the Week this season. Shelton has four starts and a 0-2-1 record with a 2.97 goals-against average and a .633 save percentage.

Players to watch:
Sophomore Krissy Kirkhoff was the Summit League Freshman of the Year last season and earned first team all-league honors. This season Kirkhoff has 21 points on seven goals and seven assists on 52 shots. She was named the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 21.
Stats: 11 games played/11 starts, 7 goals, 7 assists, 21 points, and 52 shots.
Leads the Summit League in assists and shots. Ranks second in goals and points.
Tori Minnich has won two league Offensive Player of the Week awards this season.
Stats: 11 games played/11 starts, 6 goals, 2 assists, 14 points, 24 shots.

IUPUI visits Omaha for the first time since the 2013 season.
The Jaguars own a 5-4-2 overall record and are 0-0-1 in the Summit League following a 2-2 draw against Fort Wayne.
Head Coach Chris Johnson is in his 13th year leading the IUPUI program. He has been named the Summit League Coach of the Year three times and is the program's all-time leader in wins.

The two programs have met three times with IUPUI winning all three matches.
Last season in Indianapolis, Krissy Kirkhoff scored twice in the opening 11 minutes as IUPUI defeated Omaha, 2-0.

Players to watch:
Senior Rachel Good earned Summit League All-Tournament and All-Freshman accolades in 2012 for the Mastodons. Last season, started 15 games with 11 points on three goals and five assists. Good is the reigning Summit League Offensive Player of the Week.
Stats: 13 games played/13 starts, three goals, five assists, 11 points, and 35 shots.
Ranks second in the Summit League in assists and shots.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kiley Dunning earned league Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 28.
Stats: 13 games/11 starts, 1.84 goals against average, .796 save pct., 3-6-2 record with three shut-outs.
Leads the Summit League in saves and third in shut-outs.
Notes:
Fort Wayne hosts Omaha for the first time since the 2013 season. In three all-time meetings, the final score has been 1-0. The Mastodons own a 3-8-2 overall record and are 1-0-1 in the Summit League.
IPFW currently is in second place in the league standings with four points. The defeated Western Illinois, 1-0, to start league play and followed that up with a 2-2 draw at IUPUI.
Head Coach Jason Burr is in his second season with the Mastodons. Prior to coming to Fort Wayne, Burr was the head coach at Benedictine University in Illinois.
Series vs. Fort Wayne
The two teams have matched up three times with Omaha owning a 2-1 advantage. The home team has won every match up in the series and all three matches have ended 1-0.

Anna Sibson, who chipped the ball over a pair of Mastodon defenders and into the back of the net.
Women's Soccer Earns 14th Straight NSCAA Team Academic Award
The Omaha women's soccer team was recognized as a College Team Academic Award winner by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the organization announced. A total of 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.
This is the 14th time the Mavericks have been recognized by the NSCAA for their academic performance under Head Coach
Don Klosterman. UNO finished the academic year with a 3.37 cumulative GPA.
Omaha was recognized as one of 208 schools to have both their men's and women's programs recognized. This is the fourth consecutive year both Omaha soccer teams have been recognized for their work in the classroom.

Omaha welcomes Western Illinois and South Dakota to Caniglia Field next weekend. The Leathernecks visit Omaha on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, South Dakota comes to town for a noon start.
