Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's basketball snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon, defeating Denver 80-69 at Ralston Arena. With the win, the Mavericks improved to 8-11 (2-5 Summit League), while the Pioneers dropped to 9-11 (3-4 Summit League).
Senior guard
CJ Carter finished with a game-high 23 points, shooting 7-of-11 with a trio of 3-pointers and a 6-of-6 effort at the line. The Omaha Benson product added two rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal.

Devin Patterson added 13 points, a pair of boards, five assists and two steals. Junior guard
Marcus Tyus and junior forward
Randy Reed II matched each other with 12 points apiece, with Tyus pulling down six rebounds and Reed snagging three more. Reed, whose point total was a season high, also shot 2-of-2 from the field and 8-of-9 at the charity stripe.
Senior forward
Mike Rostampour also pulled down a game-leading seven rebounds to lead the way on the glass, and junior forward
Jake White had eight points and seven caroms to his credit.
As a team, Omaha shot 23-of-41 (.561) for day, marking its third consecutive game with a .500 or better field goal percentage. Denver finished 25-of-55 (.455) as a squad.
Denver was led by 14 points from Bryant Rucker and 11 from Brett Olson.
The Mavericks opened the game shooting 9-of-10 from the floor to take a 20-16 lead. Denver went ahead 24-23 on two Olson 3-pointers, but Omaha quickly responded with six straight points from Patterson and White to go up by five. DU pulled within one on a Christian Mackey layup with 1:09 left, but White's putback at the buzzer maintained Omaha's lead, 35-32, at the break.
In the second half, Carter and Tyus combined to drain four treys from 16:28 to 12:54 that put the Mavericks ahead 57-43. UNO also outrebounded DU 16-10 in the final 20 minutes, and aided by Carter's 16 points, as well as eight each from Tyus and Reed, the Mavs went on to secure the victory, 80-69.
