DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – The Omaha women's golf team took fifth at the South Dakota Coyote Classic on Tuesday at Dakota Dunes Country Club.

The Mavericks posted a 54-hole team score of 982 over the 6,041-yard layout.  North Dakota State won the event with a score of 926 while Drake was second at 959.  Host South Dakota came in third at 964.

Sophie Peters and Megan Vetrovsky tied for first in team scoring and 10th overall with scores of 238.  Vetrovsky shot a final round 78 while Peters carded an 81.

Katie Kesti was third for the Mavs and 23rd overall at 248, a total that included a score of 82 in the final round.  Makenna Kroeker shot 85 on Tuesday for a total score of 258, good for 36th overall.

Katelyn Strudthoff completed the scoring for the Mavericks with a three-round tally of 287, putting her 44th.

The Mavericks are back in action at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial at Missouri State on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13-14.
