MACOMB, Ill. – The Omaha women's golf team took third place at the WIU Autumn Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course.

The Mavericks shot a team score of 326 in the final round to finish at 644 for the tournament, just three shots behind second-place Indiana State.  Host Western Illinois won the event with a score of 621.

Katie Kesti led the Mavericks in scoring with a 36-hole total of 155 that included a round of 78 on Sunday.  She finished third overall.

Kesti was one stroke ahead of teammate Megan Vetrovsky who had UNO's low round on Sunday at 76.  She finished at 156, good for a tie for fourth.

Sophie Peters was third for the Mavericks and tied for 12th overall.  She shot a score of 164 that included a round of 87 on Sunday.

Makenna Kroeker shot 85 in the final round to conclude the tournament at 174, good for a tie for 25th.  Katelyn Strudthoff shot 95 on Sunday to finish at 180, fifth for the Mavs and in a tie for 31st overall.

Alexa Ruwe, playing as an individual, also had a score of 180 including an 89 in round two.

The Mavericks return to action at the South Dakota Coyote Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29 and 30.
