OMAHA, Neb. – The 251 student-athletes that represent Omaha Athletics set yet another record of academic success in 2013-14. They posted a combined grade point average of 3.43 for the spring semester, the best all student-athlete GPA in school history.
The Mavericks have now reset that GPA mark in three of the last four semesters.
“It is gratifying to see the outstanding achievement of our student-athletes given the many demands placed on their time,” said
Trev Alberts, Director of Athletics. “Since we began our reclassification to Division I, we have put considerable human and material resources toward ensuring that our student-athletes are successful in their academic pursuits.
“The success of our student-athletes is a great credit to our Academic Success staff, and it is certainly something in which our entire department takes great pride.”
During the spring of 2014, 126 of UNO's student-athletes were members of either the Dean's List (3.5 GPA or higher) or the Chancellor's List (4.0 GPA). Eighty-two percent or 207 Mavericks earned at least at 3.0 GPA.
