OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team closed out the fall schedule with a sixth-place finish at the Creighton Classic on Tuesday at Oak Hills Country Club.
The Mavericks finished with a 36-hole team score of 668 after shooting a score of 341 today. South Dakota won the event with a score of 642, four strokes ahead of host Creighton.
Katie Kesti led the Mavericks in scoring in round two and for the tournament. She shot 82 on Tuesday for a total score of 154 which put her third in the field of 43 golfers.
Sophie Peters tied with teammate Megan Vetrovksy and two others for 19th overall with a scores of 168. Vetrovsky shot an 83 in round two while Peters carded an 86.
Makenna Kroeker was fourth for the Mavericks and tied for 34th overall with a score of 179 that included a round of 91 on Tuesday.
Alexa Ruwe shot 90 in the final round to finish at 185, good for a tie for 37th.
Katelyn Strudthoff, playing as an individual, shot 206 for the tournament to finish 43rd.
The Mavericks will resume play in February.
