SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in 14th place at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial which concluded on Tuesday at the Twin Oaks Country Club.
The Mavericks finished with a score 963 over the 54-hole tournament. Oral Roberts won the event with a score of 891 followed by Arkansas-Little Rock at 901 and host Missouri State at 904.
Freshman Megan Vetrovksy was UNO's top scorer for the tournament with a score of 230 that included a score of 80 in round three. She finished in a tie for 25th place in the field of 86 golfers. It's the third time in four tournaments that she has led the Mavericks in scoring.
Sophie Peters was second for the Mavericks and tied for 49th overall with a score of 238. She shot 79 in the final round.
Katie Kesti had UNO's best round of the day on Tuesday with a 77 that gave her a three-day total score of 243, good for a tie for 61st.
Makenna Kroeker shot 86 in the final round to finish at 258, good for 82nd, and
Alexa Ruwe completed the scoring for UNO with a total score of 260, putting her in 83rd place.
The Mavericks will finish their fall season at the Creighton Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21 at the Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha.
