SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team is in 15th place after the first round of the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Sunday at the Twin Oaks Country Club.
The Mavericks posted an 18-hole team score of 324. Oral Roberts leads the 54-hole event with a score of 293 followed by Arkansas Little Rock (298), host Missouri State and South Dakota State (304).
Megan Vetrovsky had UNO's top score in round one, shooting a five-over-par 76 to put her in a tie for 21st.
Sophie Peters is second for the Mavericks and tied for 45th with a round of 79.
Alexa Ruwe shot 84 to rank third for the Mavs and in a tie for 74th overall. That put her one stroke ahead of teammate
Katie Kesti who shot 85, good for a tie for 77th.
Makenna Kroeker rounded out the scoring for UNO with a round of 89, good for 84th.
The second round begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.
