Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's basketball team saw its six-game home win streak snapped on Thursday night, falling 74-60 to Denver at Ralston Arena. The Mavericks are now 11-8 (1-3 Summit League), while the Pioneers improve to 9-10 (2-2 Summit League).

UNO was led offensively by senior John Karhoff, who scored 18 points while shooting 77 percent (7-of-9) from the field. The Omaha native was the only Maverick to post double-figure scoring for the night. Karhoff also led all players by dishing out five assists.

Junior forward Mike Rostampour and senior guard Justin Simmons accounted for eight points apiece. Rostampour also hauled in a team-leading five boards.

The Pioneers got production from their guards, who combined to score 50 of the team's 74 points. Bryant Rucker led the charge with 19 points while nabbing five rebounds. Brett Olson put up 15 points and notched a team-high five assists.

Denver had its way beyond the arc tonight, shooting 53 percent (10-of-19). The Pioneers finished the night shooting 63 percent (30-of-48) from the field as a team. UNO finished the night shooting 48 percent (23-of-48), while posting a 27 percent (4-of-15) clip from downtown.

DU put together a 72 percent (18-of-25) shooting effort in the first half, including a 60 percent (6-of-10) effort from long range. Rucker led DU with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting with two 3-pointers, and Olson added another 11 for the Pioneers. Karhoff led the Mavericks with 15 points, firing 6-of-6 in the opening 20 minutes. Denver got rolling with an early 9-0 run and took its first double-digit lead at 33-22 with 6:27 left until halftime, then seized a 44-32 advantage at the break.

Using a 14-1 scoring stretch, Denver went up by 20 with just over six minutes to go in the game, surging ahead 68-48. Spreading its scoring among eight players in the second half, the Pioneers went on to earn the win, 74-60. The victory marked DU head coach Joe Scott's 200th career win over his 14-year coaching career.
